Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have a current driver’s license.
• Must provide a current Motor Vehicle Report and meet driver standards.
• Must have current State of Georgia EMT-R, EMT, EMT-Intermediate, or Advanced EMT certification or applicable South Carolina certification with National Registry.
• Must have current Basic Life Support Provider certification.
• One year experience as EMT provider preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate an emergency vehicle and provide medical treatment per current Gold Cross EMS protocols.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of GCEMS territory, hospitals, and navigation.
• Know medical codes and GCEMS radio signals and procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency medicine and participate in required classes.
• Inventory and account for drugs, IV fluids, supplies, and equipment.
• Shall drive safely to emergencies and follow EMS vehicle operations guidelines.
• Comply with all departmental and company policies and protocols.

Education
