Job summary

The ideal candidate holds a current Georgia EMT license (or SC with NREMT), a valid driver’s license, and a Basic Life Support certification; at least one year of EMT experience is preferred, with a commitment to teamwork and community service.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current driver\'s license required.
• Must provide a current Motor Vehicle Report.
• Current Georgia EMT-R, EMT, EMT-Intermediate, or Advanced EMT certification or SC EMT/Advanced EMT with National Registry.
• Current Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year EMT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical treatment and stabilization under physician direction within state EMS policies and GCEMS protocols.
• Maintain knowledge of GCEMS territory, hospitals, and navigation.
• Know medical codes and GCEMS radio signals and procedures.
• Keep up-to-date with emergency medicine practices through study and classes.
• Inventory drugs, IV fluids, supplies, and equipment; report deficiencies.
• Ensure unit and equipment readiness at shift start and throughout the shift.
• Take command of emergencies as needed within scope of practice and communicate actions to on-scene officers.
• Work as part of a team; duties may rotate the driver/technician role.
• Drive EVO safely with Due Regard as trained.
• Comply with all policies and procedures.
