Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current driver’s license.
• Must provide a current Motor Vehicle Report and meet insurer standards.
• Current Georgia EMT-R/EMT/EMT-Intermediate or Advanced EMT certification or SC EMT/Advanced EMT with National Registry.
• Current Basic Life Support Provider certification.
• One year EMT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate an emergency vehicle and provide medical treatment per Gold Cross EMS protocols.
• Maintain knowledge of GCEMS protocols and hospitals in the service area.
• Inventory and maintain unit supplies, drugs, IV fluids, and equipment.
• Take command on scene within scope of practice and report to on-scene officer when required.
• Work as a team; driver/technician duties may rotate while care remains with higher-level provider.
• Complete daily unit checks and report deficiencies to Field Supervisor.
