Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Harwood Heights, IL is seeking a Plasma Center Medical Support Specialist EMT to support center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests.

Reporting to the Center Manager, you will work under a Center Physician for medical issues, ensure compliance with SOPs, assist with vaccination programs, and support occupational health, EHS, and emergency response.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent incl. nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed/certified EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, or RN in the relevant state.
• CPR and AED certification valid.
• FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist completed.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent and medical history.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
• Provide center level support on environmental, health and safety matters.
• Support vaccination programs for employees and assist EMS considerations.
• Coordinate with Center Physician for medical issues and decisions.
• Assist with incident management and occupational health guidance.
