Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Addison, IL seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations using EMT skills for donor safety and eligibility determinations. You will report to the Center Manager and work under the Center Physician for medical issues, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

You will evaluate donor safety, review laboratory test results, and assist in adverse events management, vaccination programs, and EHS guidance.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified in IL: EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, informed consent, medical history, and acceptance requirements.
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) and medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on findings.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage occupational health incidents with EHS guidance.
