Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in DeKalb, IL is seeking a Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to assess donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab tests, and communicate results under physician guidance. You will support center operations and ensure donor safety in the plasma donation process.

Qualifications

• State license or active certification per responsibilities (EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN or RN) and current CPR/AED.
• Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
• Perform donor history interview and physical examination and review SPE.
• Assess donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Coordinate with Center Physician and Medical Affairs on abnormal findings.
