Job summary

Lutheran Health Network is seeking an EMT I to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation in accordance with state laws and department protocols. You will support patient care within the EMS department and ensure safe, efficient pre-hospital delivery.

Under supervision, you will document patient information, maintain equipment, and promote safety and communication within the EMS team, collaborating with paramedics, nurses, and physicians during patient transfer.

Qualifications

• Completion of a state-approved EMT training program is required.
• Experience in a hospital-based ED or ambulance service is preferred.
• EMT Advanced course is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic emergency medical care per state scope and department policies.
• Assist with patient assessment, vital signs, and care under supervision of a Paramedic or clinical leader.
• Administer CPR and first aid, wound care, bleeding control, immobilization, and assist with breathing.
• Operate emergency vehicles safely per hospital policy and traffic laws.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR.
