Job summary

Northwest Healthcare in Tucson, AZ is seeking an EMT I to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation under supervision. You will support patient care within the EMS department and ensure safe, efficient pre-hospital delivery.

The role involves maintaining equipment, documenting patient information in the EMR, promoting safety, and collaborating with paramedics, nurses, and physicians during patient handoffs. State EMT certification and BCLS are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a state-approved EMT training program is required.
• EMT Advanced course preferred.
• Experience in a hospital ED, ambulance service, or critical care transport is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic emergency medical care in accordance with state scope and departmental policies.
• Assist with patient assessment and vital signs under supervision of a Paramedic or clinical lead.
• Operate emergency vehicles safely and in compliance with policies and traffic laws.
• Complete accurate EMR documentation and maintain equipment.
• Escalate patient care or operational concerns through the chain of command.
• Collaborate with paramedics, nurses, and physicians on patient handoffs.
