Job summary

Northwest Healthcare in Sahuarita, AZ is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician I to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation under Paramedic supervision, supporting the EMS department.

The EMT I maintains equipment, documents patient information in the EMR, and promotes safety and communication within the EMS team while complying with state laws and departmental policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of a state-approved EMT training program.
• Advanced EMT course preferred.
• Experience in a hospital-based ED, ambulance service, or critical care transport is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic emergency medical care and transportation per state laws and department protocols.
• Assist with patient assessment, vital sign monitoring, and delivery of care under supervision.
• Administer first aid (CPR, bleeding control, wound care) as assigned.
• Operate emergency vehicles safely and in accordance with hospital policy and local laws.
• Maintain and restock equipment; ensure readiness at start of shift.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR and follow regulatory guidelines.
