Job summary

Northwest Medical Center Sahuarita is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician I to provide basic emergency medical care and transport in accordance with state laws and clinical protocols. Qualifications

• Technical School EMT training program completed (state-approved).
• EMT Advanced course preferred.
• Experience in hospital ED, ambulance, or critical care transport preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic emergency medical care in line with state scope of practice and policies.
• Assists with patient assessment, vital signs, and care under supervision.
• Administers CPR, wound care, bleeding control, immobilization, and breathing support as assigned.
• Operates emergency vehicles safely and per hospital policy and traffic laws.
• Performs equipment and vehicle checks at shift start for readiness.
• Maintains and restocks supplies for patient care.
• Follows PPE usage and infection control procedures.
• Completes accurate EMR documentation per guidelines.
• Escalates patient care or operational concerns through the chain of command.
• Collaborates with paramedics, nurses, and physicians during transfers.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with all policies.
