Job summary

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO, assists Paramedics by delivering basic medical care, including CPR, AED, ventilation and hemorrhage control to stabilize patients in emergencies and non-emergencies.

You will document care under EMS direction, and operate an ambulance under varying road conditions to safely transport patients to receiving facilities. A Missouri EMT license is required, with BLS due within 90 days, and prior EMT experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Current Missouri EMT License required.
• MO Class E license required for Missouri residents; MO Non-Resident: Chauffeur’s license or Class E equivalent for that state, required upon hire.
• BLS certification due within first 90 days of employment.
• Preferred: Previous EMT experience.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

• The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) assists Paramedics with providing efficient and immediate care to patients in various emergency and non-emergency situations. Responsible for providing basic medical support including CPR, AED, ventilation, controlling hemorrhaging, etc. to stabilize the patient’s condition. The EMT is responsible for documenting all aspects of care provided under their direction by EMS services. Operates the ambulance in various road conditions to safely transport patients to medical facilities.
