Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to assist Paramedics and provide basic medical support in emergency and non-emergency situations.

You will perform CPR, AED use, ventilation, hemorrhage control, and document all care under EMS supervision.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous EMT experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Missouri EMT License required; MO Class E license for residents; MO Non-Resident: Chauffeur’s license or Class E equivalent upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Paramedics with providing care in emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Perform CPR, use AED, ventilation, control hemorrhaging to stabilize patients.
  • Document all care provided under EMS supervision.
  • Operate ambulance in various road conditions and transport patients to facilities.

Responsible for providing basic medical support including CPR, AED, ventilation, controlling hemorrhaging, etc. to stabilize the patient’s condition. The EMT is responsible for documenting all aspects of care provided under their direction by EMS services. Operates the ambulance in various road conditions to safely transport patients to medical facilities.Job Requirements• Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent• Experience Preferred: Previous EMT experience• Skills Calmly and efficiently perform and make appropriate decisions rapidly under stress in emergency situations. Ability to work outdoors. Ability to follow instructions. Is familiar with age specific needs for the patient population served. Must be 18 years of age• Licensure/Certification/Registration Current Missouri EMT License required Missouri Resident: MO Class E license is required. MO Non-Resident: Chauffeur’s license or Class E equivalent for that state, required upon hire.
