Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Fairview Heights, IL is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, review test results, manage adverse events, and support plasma center operations under leadership of the Center Manager and Physician.

The role leverages EMT credentials and healthcare experience, with a focus on compliance, safety, and patient care within a Takeda-backed program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified: EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN or RN.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Fulfill state IV therapy requirements (in licensure state).
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history, and examination.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and potential follow-up.
