Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in Fairview Heights, IL. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory results, and notify donors of unsuitable results under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

You will follow SOPs for emergencies, assist with vaccination programs, and support OSHA/EHS guidance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed/certified EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P in the responsible state (plus LPN/LVN, RN).
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill basic IV therapy requirements per state.
• Complete FDA BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, informed consent, medical history interview and donor acceptance.
• Assess physical exams, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician/Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Participate in EHS guidance and pandemic investigations when authorized.
