Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking an EMT-qualified Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor safety and support the plasma donation process at the Fairview Heights, IL center. You will assess donors, manage adverse events, review lab results, and communicate test outcomes under physician and EHS guidance.

The role emphasizes adherence to regulatory SOPs, safety protocols, and collaboration with the Center Manager to maintain high-quality donor care and center operations.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I or EMT-P in the applicable state
• Current CPR and AED certification required
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, and physical examination
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues
• Support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu) for employees as applicable
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and determine if further evaluation is required
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist with investigations as needed
