Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking an Medical Support Specialist to bring EMT skills to donor centers. You will assess donor eligibility, manage adverse events, and review lab results under center leadership and medical guidance.

This role supports vaccination programs and safety procedures while maintaining compliance with plasma collection regulations. Qualified candidates hold EMT licenses (B/A/I/P) or RN/LPN, CPR/AED, and at least two years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program completion with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state of responsibility: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, examination, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and center standing orders.
• Consult Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
