Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Fort Worth is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations, determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, and review lab results. Qualifications

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and center physician standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and escalate to occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent and donor acceptance requirements.
• Evaluate donor reactions and ensure safe transport when needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical issues and safety guidance.
• Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents per EHS guidance and OSHA standards.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
