Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is hiring a Medical Support Specialist to apply EMT expertise in donor safety and plasma collection operations in Beaumont, TX. You will assess donor eligibility, monitor reactions, and coordinate with doctors and medical affairs as needed.

The role requires state EMT licensure (EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, or RN), CPR/AED, IV therapy readiness, and clinical experience. BioLife offers strong benefits and growth within Takeda's framework.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program graduate per state requirements.
• Licensed in the responsible state: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete BioLife FDA training for Medical Support Specialist; two years in clinical/hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, informed consent, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance.
• Support employee vaccination programs (Hepatitis B, Seasonal Flu) as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and assist pandemic investigations when authorized.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and Medical Affairs.
