Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with state nursing program requirement.
• Current EMT-B/A/I, Paramedic, LPN/LVN or RN licensure in state.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) and manage medical emergencies per SOPs, including transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program with state requirements

Current EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P or LPN/LVN or RN licensure in state

CPR and AED certification
