Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Greensboro, NC, seeks an EMT-based Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, and support the plasma donation process.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance, applying your EMT training in a regulated environment while contributing to patient safety and high-quality donor care. This role offers predictable scheduling and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must hold EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P or LPN/LVN or RN licensure in the responsible state.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete BioLife Medical Support Specialist FDA training.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent and medical history interview.
• Assess donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for staff.
• Manage employee incidents with occupational health guidance.
• Assist with pandemic coordination when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
