Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks an EMT-qualified Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor safety and support the plasma donation process. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, and respond to medical issues under Center Manager guidance.

The role emphasizes clinical assessment, adherence to SOPs, and collaboration with Medical Affairs and EHS. Extensive donor interaction and a commitment to quality are essential.

Qualifications

• EMT certification or licensure in the applicable state.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, physical exam, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance.
• Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
