Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks Medical Support Specialists to determine donor eligibility and manage donor safety within plasma centers. You will review test results, handle adverse events, and collaborate with Center Physicians under Takeda guidance. Prior clinical experience and various EMT licenses are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, and review of SPE results.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies following SOPs and center guidance.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on abnormal findings or medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with Occupational Health/ER as needed.
