Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist in Lenexa, KS. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, manage donor safety, and support plasma center operations under the Center Manager and Center Physician.

You will work with a team to ensure regulatory compliance, support vaccination programs, and handle donor adverse events. A nursing/EMT background and CPR/AED certification are required, with two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with nursing program background.
• Currently licensed/certified in the state (EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, RN).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state IV therapy requirements.
• Complete FDA BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including consent, medical history, and testing.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer issues to Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
• Support vaccination programs for employees when applicable.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
