Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor eligibility, manage donor safety and laboratory result reviews, and provide center-level medical guidance. You will operate under the Center Manager and Center Physician, with responsibility for compliance and EHS-aligned activities.

The role requires clinical experience, state licensure, CPR/AED, and readiness to participate in vaccination programs and emergency protocols in a plasma collection

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with state nursing program requirements.
• Current licensed or certified in the state: EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, or RN.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history, physical examination, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies and transport if needed.
• Refer to Centre Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and refer for further evaluation if needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations as required.
