Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks Medical Support Specialists to apply EMT skills in donor safety and plasma collection operations. You will assess donor eligibility, review tests, and support medical guidance under supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

Qualifications

• Current EMT certifications (EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P) or nursing licensure (LPN/LVN, RN) as applicable.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, physical exam, and lab review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and coordinate medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues as needed.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS for further evaluation.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist related investigations.
