Job summary

Mobile Medical Response is seeking an Entry EMT-Basic to provide transport and basic emergency medical care in West Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.

The EMT will follow MDCH guidelines and work under medical control to stabilize patients during transport and in non-emergency situations. Responsibilities include patient assessment, administering pre-hospital care within licensure, ensuring equipment is ready for service, and communicating with responding agencies.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed in Michigan as an EMT-Basic.
• Valid Michigan driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association.
• Trauma certification (PHTLS) within 6 months of employment.
• Pediatrics certification (PEPP or PALS) within 6 months of employment.
• FEMA NIMS IC-100.b, 200.b, 700 & 800.b.
• Ability to perform well under emergent conditions.
• Must be able to drive according to MMR standards.

Responsibilities

• Know and support the Mission Statement, Policy/Procedures and standards of MMR.
• Conduct examination of patient for signs of injury/illness and assist others.
• Provide prompt care and stabilization of patient en route to destination.
• Prepare supplies and equipment to return the unit to service quickly.
• Use basic tools to access patients requiring extrication.
• Control the scene to minimize danger and manage bystanders.
• Communicate with other emergency services and medical controls as needed.
• Follow FCC regulations relative to communications equipment.
• Drive and operate ambulance equipment safely and legally.
• Ensure vehicles are in good working order and stocked.
• Report observations and care to receiving facility staff.
• Obtain and protect health information as required.
• Administer pre-hospital care within licensure and protocols.
• Act professionally and report unethical conduct appropriately.
