Job summary

MyMichigan Health in Michigan is seeking a Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) to provide life support from arrival through transfer to physician or paramedic, with knowledge of assessment and a range of life-threatening conditions.

The EMT-B will support ambulance operations, coordinate with responders, and ensure equipment readiness, while maintaining Michigan licensure and completing required continuing education.

Qualifications

• BLS – Basic Life Support.
• DMV check: required.
• EMT-B – EMT Basic certification.
• Know emergency medicine basics and licensure maintenance.
• EMT-S – EMT Specialist P readiness.
• Aggression management training (TEAM ADVANCED).

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessment and physical exam on all patients so as to provide Emergency Room physician with a clear, concise picture of the patient's condition.
• Assists in the management of co-responders to the scene of accidents, fire or medical emergencies.
• Arranges and performs timely and efficient transportation to the appropriate facility for continued patient care. Monitors patient condition.
• Initiates emergency management to rectify or stabilize any anomaly found in the patient's physiological or psychological condition.
