Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Basic EMT (EMT-B) to provide basic life support from arrival to transfer to physician or paramedic. You will perform patient assessments, manage a wide range of emergencies, and support non-emergency transports.

You must have high school diploma or GED, BLS, DMV check, EMT-B certification, and maintain licensure. The role requires excellent driving skills, ability to work independently, and strong geographical navigation for routing and safety.

Qualifications

• Excellent driving skills for emergency vehicles.
• Driving record must meet or exceed the facilities current insurance standards.
• Ability to work independently to produce desired results.
• Geographical skills needed to access emergency locations.
• Mandatory TB testing and OSHA training completed annually.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessment and physical exam to provide ER physician with a clear picture of the patient's condition.
• Assists in managing co-responders to accidents, fires or medical emergencies.
• Arranges and performs timely and efficient transportation to the appropriate facility for continued patient care.
• Initiates emergency management to rectify or stabilize any anomaly found in the patient's condition.
