Job summary

Mercy Health System seeks EMS personnel to perform direct patient care, assessment, and basic life support in accordance with Mercy standards. EMT-Is may also take on clerical, dispatch, and maintenance duties as required.

Required are an EMT license in the applicable state, a valid driver's license, and completion of Hazmat Awareness, BLS, and NIMS courses within 90 days of hire. Applicants must be at least 19 years old and able to meet demanding physical requirements.

Qualifications

• EMT licensure in the state of employment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Applicants must be at least 19 years old to operate Mercy EMS vehicles.
• Hazmat Awareness, BLS for Healthcare Providers, NIMS 100/200/700/800 within 90 days of hire.
• Able to work differing shifts and schedules.
• Must meet physical demands and fitness for duty requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care including assessment, evaluation, and basic life support.
• EMT-Is may also perform clerical, dispatch, and maintenance duties as required.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
