Job summary

Mercy Health System seeks an Emergency Medical Technician to provide direct patient care, assessment, and basic life support within Mercy EMS operations. The role may include clerical, dispatch, and maintenance duties as required.

Applicants must hold an EMT license for the state, be 19+ years old, and obtain Hazmat Awareness, BLS, and NIMS certifications within 90 days of hire. Shifts may vary to meet EMS needs.

Qualifications

• EMT license required for the state of employment.
• Must be at least 19 years old to operate Mercy EMS vehicles.
• Hazmat Awareness, BLS for Healthcare Providers, NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 800 within 90 days of hire.
• May be required to work differing shifts and schedules.
• Must be able to perform strenuous physical requirements and operate in challenging environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care including assessment, evaluation, and basic life support.
• May perform clerical, dispatch, and maintenance duties as required.
• Collaborate with EMS team to ensure rapid, safe patient handling and transport.
