Job summary

Mercy EMS seeks an EMT-I to perform direct patient care including assessment, evaluation, and basic life support in line with Mercy Health System standards and the Sisters of Mercy philosophy.

The role requires an EMT license, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to operate under demanding conditions. Training for Hazmat Awareness, BLS, and NIMS within 90 days is required, with potential shift variations.

Qualifications

• EMT license required for the state of employment.
• Must be at least 19 years of age to operate Mercy EMS vehicles.
• Hazmat Awareness, BLS for Healthcare Providers, NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 800 within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including assessment, evaluation, and basic life support.
• Performs related duties as assigned and may assist with clerical, dispatch, and maintenance tasks as required.
