Job summary

The County of Volusia is seeking a Management Specialist for the Emergency Medical Services division. The role oversees System Status Management, deploys ambulance coverage, and manages EMS unit availability using CAD and radio systems.

You will coordinate deployments, monitor unit status, and produce data-driven reports. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED with four years of related experience, plus a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of GED, and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in administrative or technical support.
• Valid driver's license required at time of appointment; Florida license within 30 days.
• Comparable education, training and experience may substitute minimum qualifications.
• Experience with 911 systems or EMS is a plus; certifications in EMS are considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of EMS System Status Management, with occasional supervision.
• Answer radio calls, search records, communicate via MDT, and log entries in EMS systems.
• Coordinate daily ambulance deployment and monitor unit availability.
• Track unit status in CAD, manage OOS times, and calibrate deployments per demand.
• Provide reports to division director and ensure compliance with management goals.
• Train personnel as appropriate and coordinate with other divisions and agencies.
