Job summary

Richmond Ambulance Authority is seeking a System Status Controller to monitor EMS calls in real time and coordinate unit deployment using CAD and radio systems. The role requires rapid multitasking, strict adherence to IAED protocols, and collaboration with public safety partners.

The SSC will manage call triage, track unit status, and assist with training for new staff while ensuring consistent system performance and patient care across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• EMD certification and CPR are preferred.
• Strong verbal communication and multitasking abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency and non-emergency calls and determine appropriate response levels.
• Monitor ambulance deployment and track unit status in CAD.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, and hospitals for real-time updates.
• Maintain system readiness and report inefficiencies or delays.
• Complete shift documentation and participate in quality assurance.
