Job summary

Coryell Health in Gatesville, TX is seeking a dynamic EMS Supervisor to lead the EMS department, oversee staff, and ensure high-quality patient care. This role emphasizes operational oversight, staffing, training, and compliance with applicable regulations.

The supervisor will serve as a working leader, coordinate ongoing education, monitor performance, and support department operations while maintaining patient-centered service and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Current Texas EMS certification/licensure
• Current CPR certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current PALS certification (as applicable to department requirements)
• Current NIMS/ICS training as required
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of emergency medical care, EMS operations, and applicable regulations
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
• Ability to work independently while effectively leading a team

Responsibilities

• Supervise, lead, and support EMS personnel in delivering safe, effective patient care.
• Assist with daily EMS operations, including staffing, scheduling, assignments, and coverage.
• Respond to emergency calls and provide patient care within licensure scope.
• Monitor EMS staff performance and provide coaching and guidance.
• Promote adherence to EMS protocols, medical direction, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with orientation and onboarding of new EMS employees.
• Coordinate continuing education and required certifications.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
• Review patient care reports for completeness and accuracy.
• Monitor response times, patient outcomes, equipment readiness, and department performance.
• Ensure ambulances and equipment are maintained and stocked.
• Assist with inventory management and equipment needs.
• Investigate and document patient care concerns and incidents.
• Maintain communication with hospital departments and community partners.
• Assist with emergency preparedness and mass-casualty planning.
• Participate in department meetings and committees.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and customer service.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance for EMS and hospital activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
