Job summary

Milwaukee County’s Office of Emergency Management seeks an EMS Instructor (Hourly) to develop and deliver instructional EMS content, assist with prehospital training, and participate in community outreach. The role includes setting up training spaces, equipment maintenance, and contributing to ongoing professional development of staff.

The position requires Wisconsin residency, a Paramedic license with MC LCA eligibility, and at least two years of EMS experience, with ACLS/BLS/PALS

Qualifications

• Must be a Wisconsin resident.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain it.
• Current Wisconsin Paramedic license and MC LCA eligible.
• At least two years of paramedicine/EMS experience.
• Advanced knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets; familiarity with EMS equipment and training manikins.

Responsibilities

• Develop content, review with medical direction and deliver to EMS partners; schedule and record courses and activities.
• Operate paramedic-level educational fly cars as directed by OEM leadership.
• Represent the organization at public events, health fairs, and safety initiatives to educate the public on life-saving skills and EMS awareness.
• Assist the Clinician Development Manager with instructor/class records, cards, and ARC policy inquiries.
• Participate in department growth and EMS professional development, plus continuing education as assigned.
