Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, substantial related experience, and relevant EMS instructor credentials.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in healthcare, fire service, EMS, or related field.
24 months (4,000 hours) of verifiable occupational experience in the related field; if applicable, within the last five years.
EMS Instructors: Wisconsin DHS EMS Instructor I certification at EMT level; Paramedic preferred or ability to obtain at hire.
EMS instructors: Wisconsin EMS licensure (or equivalent such as RN/PA); Paramedic preferred.
Eligibility for WCTC Credentialing System.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and instruct quality education programs.
AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS Instructor preferred.
Technology-based, simulation, and scenario-based instruction desirable.

Responsibilities

Engage students in the learning environment using active learning strategies.
Promote and coordinate professional development opportunities for Fire/EMS instructors.
Increase marketing of Fire and EMS training programs and prepare competent Fire/EMS providers for local employers.
