The role covers recruiting, onboarding, credential tracking, benefits, and employee inquiries, with a close partnership to operations and the owner/VP of Operations.

This hands-on role emphasizes practical HR tasks and timely decisions, including policy changes and investigations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HR experience covering recruiting, onboarding and employee paperwork.
• Ambulance, EMS, EMT or healthcare experience strongly preferred and heavily weighted.
• Familiarity with I-9, FMLA, ADA and EEO basics; know when to raise a flag.
• Experience tracking certifications, licenses or credentials with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting and hiring: post openings, source candidates, run screens and move offers quickly.
• Onboarding and credentialing: I-9, background checks, DOT/physicals, orientation scheduling.
• Employee support: be first point of contact across locations and document conversations.
• Benefits, leave and payroll: enrollments, leave processing, payroll data and reports.
• Records and compliance: maintain confidential files and HIPAA, OSHA docs.
