Job summary

Priority Patient Transport in Staunton, VA is hiring a hands-on Human Resources Generalist to run day-to-day HR for a multi-site EMS organization. You will recruit field staff, onboard and orient, track certifications, manage benefits and leave paperwork, and be the first point of contact for employee questions.

This is an operations-focused role, not a strategy seat. You’ll work closely with operations and field supervisors across five offices and report directly to the owner/VP of Operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HR experience covering recruiting, onboarding and employee paperwork.
• Ambulance, EMS, EMT or healthcare experience — strongly preferred and heavily weighted.
• Familiarity with I-9, FMLA, ADA and EEO basics (you don't have to be the expert, but you need to know when to raise a flag).

Responsibilities

• Recruiting and hiring: post openings, source candidates, screen and schedule interviews.
• Onboarding and credentialing: coordinate onboarding, background checks, DOT/physical requirements, and training.
• Employee support: answer questions, document conversations, and manage retention efforts.
• Benefits, leave and payroll support: enrollments, leave paperwork, payroll data, and benefits questions.
• Records and compliance: maintain files, OSHA logs, HIPAA training, and policy updates.
