Job summary

Priority Patient Transport is hiring a Human Resources Generalist to manage day-to-day HR for a multi-site EMS organization across five Virginia offices. You’ll recruit, onboard, credential staff, handle benefits and leave paperwork, and support employee questions.

This hands-on role partners with operations and reports to the owner/VP of Operations, with emphasis on EMS/EMT backgrounds and staff credentialing cycles.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HR experience including recruiting, onboarding and employee paperwork.
• Ambulance/EMS/healthcare experience strongly preferred and heavily weighted.
• Familiarity with I-9, FMLA, ADA and EEO basics.
• Experience tracking certifications, licenses or credentials against deadlines.
• Comfortable supporting a shift-based, multi-site, largely non-desk workforce.
• Highly organized, detail-driven, and dependable with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting and hiring for EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers and office staff; source candidates and run phone screens.
• Onboarding and credentialing: background checks, DOT/physicals, I-9/E-Verify, orientation scheduling.
• Employee support and retention: be first point of contact, document performance conversations, corrective actions.
• Benefits, leave and payroll support: enrollments, leave paperwork, payroll data, workers’ comp tracking.
• Records and compliance: maintain HR files, OSHA logs, HIPAA training, policy updates.
