Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an EMS Dispatcher III to manage 9-1-1 requests, provide emergency medical call screening, and coordinate EMS units with police, fire, and hospital staff. You will ensure accurate documentation, maintain unit status, and support pre-arrival instructions.

The role requires 3+ years of EMS dispatch experience, knowledge of radio systems, FCC rules, and relevant certifications. A strong commitment to patient confidentiality and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of dispatching experience for EMS/law enforcement or fire services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to document clearly.
• Familiarity with radio systems, frequencies, and dispatch procedures.
• Knowledge of FCC Rules and Regulations and HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receives and processes incoming and outgoing telephone and radio communications.
• Dispatches EMS units according to established protocols.
• Maintains unit status and location; coordinates large-scale incident response.
• Escalates concerns to chain of command and ensures compliance with privacy policies.
