Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an EMS Dispatcher to support the EMS departments by handling dispatch for units and coordinating 9-1-1 requests. The role requires at least 3 years of EMS/fire/law dispatch experience and strong communication with familiarity with radio systems and dispatch software.

Responsibilities include validating information, providing updates to requestors, and escalating issues to leadership as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of dispatching EMS, law enforcement, or fire services.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of radio systems and dispatch software.
• Familiarity with FCC rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Handle dispatch for the EMS department units.
• Coordinate requests for EMS services and provide updates on scheduling and delays.
• Validate requester information and follow up on discrepancies.
• Provide 9-1-1 dispatch and pre-arrival instructions when indicated.
• Escalate concerns to leadership as needed.
