Job summary

Emergency Telecommunicator Services is seeking Emergency Medical Dispatchers to support urgent medical assistance. You will gather patient and incident details, establish response priorities, and coordinate EMS resources in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include confirming locations, asking essential questions, and delivering protocol-based instructions. Some shifts may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Training and certifications are required by the posting.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or recognized equivalent is commonly required.
• Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification may be required before appointment.
• CPR certification may be required; EMT or paramedic credentials are not universal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm the patient’s location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition.
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel.
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities.
