Job summary

Life Flight Network is seeking a Communications Specialist in Boise, ID. The role supports receiving and coordinating EMS requests, ensuring rapid, accurate communication with hospitals, EMS, and flight teams. Candidates should have high school diploma, dispatch experience, and medical terminology knowledge.

Key duties include prioritizing calls, providing ETA updates, and maintaining calm professionalism. The position offers a full-time schedule with a strong benefits package within a nonprofit

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years dispatch experience in police, fire, or medical emergency preferred.
• Air medical dispatch experience preferred.
• Medical Terminology knowledge required.
• Ability to operate multi-line phone systems.
• Able to respond quickly and prioritize duties in a changing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication via email/phone.
• Basic map reading skills.
• Intermediate MS Office and general computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Receives, coordinates, and follows through to conclusion all requests for assistance using established protocols.
• Communicates succinctly and professionally with sending/receiving facilities, EMS staff, and 911 centers.
• Maintains exemplary customer service and professional demeanor at all times.
• Dispatches appropriate units and provides accurate ETAs during initial contact.
• Records events accurately in dispatch software and forms.
• Maintains and ensures equipment familiarity and readiness.
