Job summary

PHI Health in Lexington, KY, seeks a Communications Supervisor to lead the communications center. You’ll supervise scheduling, staffing, training, and on-call coverage, while coaching staff and ensuring quality transport documentation. The role supports agency communication staff and requires EMS background.

You’ll work with a team dedicated to safety and service, with opportunities to drive CQI initiatives and professional growth. A sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years experience as a communications specialist, with EMS background.
• Minimum of one year supervisory experience preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of computer systems (hardware and software).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass pre-placement drug screening and background check.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily functions: scheduling, staffing, annual assessments, training.
• On-call for departmental issues outside normal hours.
• Coach and mentor Communications Specialists for capability development.
• Perform line duties as needed to ensure coverage.
• Maintain accuracy of transport documentation and CQI records.
• Interact with vendors for equipment service and maintenance.
• Build relationships with internal/external customers and agencies.
• Prepare data and participate in CQI meetings; support shift CQI needs.
• Train new staff and monitor training outcomes for direct reports.
• Other duties as assigned.
