Job summary

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in Emergency Management or EMS Management.
• Current Virginia or National Registry EMT; EMT-Paramedic preferred.
• 3 years field experience in direct patient care or EMS/ED/critical care/dispatch.

Responsibilities

• Respond to phone calls with urgency and provide good customer service.
• Gather initial information to open cases and prepare clinical information for clinicians.
• Maintain awareness of facility staff, services and specialized programs.
• Locate resources and coordinate information to support patient disposition and admissions.
• Maintain active bed availability inventory for non-HCA placements and admissions.
• Accept, track, and facilitate hospital transfers and transports telephonically and via computer.
• Provide updates to customers on case status, including bed placement requests.
• Schedule and prioritize discharge transports and support the Patient Logistics Center.
