Job summary

Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA seeks a Clinical Nurse Coordinator to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinate unit functions during the shift. You will direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care per policies, serving as a resource for staff and aligning with the organization’s values to support excellent outcomes.

You will lead admission/discharge processes, collaborate with management for care quality, and drive engagement through nursing strategies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current RN license in Virginia or a Multistate Compact license.
• 3+ years of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• 1 year of leadership experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care in the unit with the management team.
• Collaborates with managers to foster teamwork for improved outcomes and service.
• Supports patient-first philosophy and service recovery when needed.
• Supports nursing strategies like hourly rounds and staff engagement initiatives.
• Provides recommendations on interviewing, selecting, and training staff and on performance evaluations.
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor management according to productivity guidelines.
• Assists with inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
