Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Bed Manager/Transfer Center coordinator to facilitate emergent transfers and bed assignments. You will document in EPIC, coordinate with care teams, and support patient flow across UPHS hospitals.

The role requires collaboration with RN staff and administrative colleagues to ensure timely admissions and appropriate bed locations. Experience in healthcare settings and familiarity with EPIC are preferred; strong communication and org skills are essential to manage

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Associate of Arts or Science preferred.
• Healthcare experience or equivalent education.
• Medical terminology knowledge required.
• 1+ year healthcare environment with direct patient and clinical staff contact.

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with Bed Manager RN, facilitates emergent transfers from physician offices, external facilities and within Penn Medicine.
• Place reservations in EPIC and communicate admission needs to the care team and place patients in appropriate service locations.
• Coordinate bed assignments and serve as primary data entry point for bed requests, supporting admission center activities.
