Job summary

The City of Glendale (CA) is conducting an open examination for a mid-management EMS program leadership role within the Glendale Fire Department. The position oversees the BLS ambulance transport component, manages personnel and training, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives quality improvement with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Candidates should have an AS/AA in a related field, a CA RN or Paramedic license, and five years of EMS experience with supervisory exposure.

Qualifications

• Associate of Arts or Associate of Science in a related field is required.
• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree is desirable.
• Five years of recent emergency medical care experience required, one year in supervisory capacity.
• Experience in delivery of skills training and education is highly desirable.
• Possession of a valid California Registered Nursing License or valid California State Paramedic License is required.
• California Fire Service Training is required/licensed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the EMS Basic Life Support ambulance transport program.
• Manage Ambulance Operator personnel, staffing, onboarding, training, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee quality improvement, operational readiness, and program resources.
• Maintain safe working environment and uphold city cybersecurity policies.
