Job summary

Northstar EMS is seeking a dedicated EMS Dispatcher to serve as a call-taker/telecommunicator. You will receive and prioritize medical aid requests, provide pre-arrival guidance, and coordinate dispatch to ensure rapid EMS response.

Qualifications

• EMD training or EMS/public safety dispatcher experience is preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Must complete NorthStar-approved Emergency Medical Dispatch training within 12 months of start.

Responsibilities

• Receive, record and manage requests for medical assistance and transport.
• Coordinate dispatch and communications to ensure appropriate EMS response.
• Manage radio communications, assign units (ALS, BLS, etc.) and ensure accuracy of paperwork.
• Enter data accurately and generate shift reports.
• Maintain knowledge of company policies and protocols and communicate changes to management.
