Job summary

Providence Crisis Recovery Center in Anchorage, AK, is seeking a Full Time HIM/EMR Clerk to file and scan records and manage release of information while ensuring HIPAA/PHI compliance. Minimum one year in a medical setting is required; preferred are ICD-9-CM/CPT/Medical Terminology coursework and EMR experience within a busy physician group.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a medical setting is required.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI, and release of information processes.

Responsibilities

• File and scan records in the Health Information Management EMR.
• Manage release of information and PHI compliance.
• Ensure completeness and timeliness of medical records to support patient care and operations.

Coursework/Training: 2 years of community college/business school training.

Coursework/Training: Additional coursework in business or health care related subjects.
